Robert Hayward was born in 1798 in Oxfordshire, England. As yet it is unknown when Robert came to Australia but once there he was a Squatter. In 1830 his first known child came into the world: Bridget Ann. There is no baptism certificate for Bridget but it is believed her mother was Ann Blake (b. 1808 Galway, Ireland) who is alleged to have been Robert’s wife. Robert and Ann also had a son called Robert who was born on the 22nd of March 1841 in Cobar, NSW and died on the 12th of August 1857 in Dubbo, NSW. Robert also had an affair with an aboriginal woman called Biddy Sergeant, which resulted in a daughter who is registered as Sarah Haywood (b. 1834 NSW).
Bridget Ann (also known as Ann Bridget) was born in 1830 in Greenbar, Coonabarabran, NSW. She married James Magick in 1856 in Cobbora, NSW. On the 15th of October 1872 in Buddenbela, Cobbora Bridget died suddenly during childbirth. She was buried on the 17th of October 1872 in Buddenbela. She left behind her four children. (See Magick/Madgwick section for children.)
